Alec Empire ‘s space jazz album was released in early 1996 on the Frankfurt based Mille Plateaux label.

Alec Empire travelled to Iceland in 1995, lived in a tent, recorded “Low On Ice”.
Bass heavy, big reverbs, cold beats, Dub…. Quote: “Being overexposed to this extreme energy, I started feeling burnt out the first time at such high level. I felt like having crashed into the ice of a lake, drowning in cold water, freezing to death, looking at the sky and the eart through the ice. We are here to terrorize conservative society. Most music these days is very boring whereas ours is very dynamic and aggressive. I think mainstream music is so boring because of political reasons: in order to not energetize, not agitate you too much so you can go to work every day and maybe go to a club in the weekend.
